Spurs, Mavs on NBA Odds

San Antonio will be a small favorite when they host formidable division-rival Dallas on Friday night in their first encounter since the Spurs eliminated the Mavs in last season’s playoffs.

San Antonio (13-1 SU, 9-4-1 ATS) has dominated opponents this year, but Dallas has gone 5-5 SU over the past 10 games head-to-head and took three-of-four in last year’s regular season - before bowing out in the playoffs.

Dallas is currently on a three-game win streak, including a 111-103 win over Oklahoma City on Wednesday. The Spurs (4-point favorites at Sportsbook.ag) did come back in their last game to pull out a 113-109 OT victory against Minnesota and keep their streak alive.

San Antonio dropped its only game against New Orleans at home back in late October, and the Spurs have reeled off 12 straight victories to lead the league since then.

Dallas has covered in just over half their games, while the Spurs' ATS record is much better. Even with the close history, this could be a straight up and ATS victory for San Antonio.

The Spurs put up well over 100 points a game, while the Mavericks are among the league's stingiest – allowing below 93 points per game.

These two teams have seen the UNDER pay out in the previous five straight games, and totals bettors could have the ammunition needed for a smart OVER/UNDER wager on the posted total of 197.
