A matchup between the Phoenix Suns and Oklahoma City Thunder would have once been circled on many a calendar, but a key absence on Wednesday night paired with the Suns' lackluster 25-24 win-loss record has the Thunder listed as a 12-point betting favorite (-112) in what should be a fairly straightforward affair.

Phoenix Suns vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Expert Picks
Oklahoma City Thunder ATS -12 (-112), ML (-770)
The conspiracy theorists are out in full force with their Brian Windhorst memes contemplating whether the Suns holding out Kevin Durant against Oklahoma City with what they're listing as a ankle sprain is a sign that the former league Most Valuable Player is set to be traded ahead of Thursday's deadline. It could be something or nothing but at all, but with Durant's name being tossed around quite frequently in the last 72 hours, and with megastar Luka Doncic having just recently been sent to the Los Angeles Lakers, nothing would surprise anyone anymore.
Regardless, what this all means for Wednesday is that Phoenix will likely be in for a world of hurt against the 39-9 Thunder who own a 21-3 record at home and have already blown them out once already this season back on Nov. 15 (99-83). Durant was also absent for that game, and the Suns are just 1-9 in 2024-25 when he doesn't play with five losses coming by 10 or more points.
It remains to be seen if Oklahoma City will in turn rest some of its key players, but as of writing, that doesn't appear to be the case. The Thunder have won their last two games by an average margin of 31.5 points and have covered a greater percentage of their home games (69.6 percent) than any other team in the Association. Phoenix is coming off a pair of road losses to the red-hot Portland Trail Blazers in which it was favored each time, as well, and only four other teams have covered the spread a lower percentage of times on the road than it has.
This could be a bloodbath as long as Oklahoma City doesn't pull the rug out from underneath bettors by resting a slew of rotation pieces. If that can be avoid, feel free to wager both the spread and moneyline in favor of the Thunder with the utmost confidence.
UNDER 226 Total Points (-110)
While Oklahoma City is 5-1 reaching an OVER in the total market in its last six home games and the Suns have strung together three OVERs in a row away from the Footprint Center, Durant's offense will be sorely missed here to the point where an UNDER feels more likely.
Neither team broke the 100-point mark the last time around, and should Phoenix get blown to smithereens, its depth should head coach Mike Budenholzer begin to sit his starters lacks the scoring punch to boost the final score to where it needs to be.
Phoenix Suns vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Player Prop
Isaiah Hartenstein To Record 12+ Rebounds (-115)
This particular prop has been a lock since Isaiah Hartenstein returned from a five-game absence, as he's grabbed at least 12 rebounds in each of his four appearances since. He even had 12 in just 19 minutes of action on Feb. 3 in a 29-point blowout of the Milwaukee Bucks.
Phoenix ranks 20th overall in opponent's rebounds per game at 44.7, while also sitting 24th in rebounds to opposing centers.
