It’s been a historic season for the Golden State Warriors, as the team has now won 16 straight games to open the season, which set an NBA record. Not too far down the road from the Warriors, another Bay Area team has suffered a major regression, as the 3-7 San Francisco 49ers are among the worst teams in the NFL this year.
Looking ahead at the undefeated Warriors’ schedule, they don’t face a major contender for a month when they meet the Cleveland Cavaliers on Christmas day. The 49ers, meanwhile, have six games left on their schedule, with only one of their opponents, the Cleveland Browns, having a worse record.
The contrast between the two teams has prompted online sportsbook Sportsbook to create a prop for which team will have more regular season losses this year, the Warriors (-300) or 49ers (+200).
There’s still over 60 games left on the Warriors schedule, and anything can happen throughout the course of a season, but they’re already being compared to the best regular season team of all-time, the 1995-96 Bulls who went 72-10.
