It's not surprise to see North Carolina as favorites to win the ACC Tournament. The Tar Heels are on a seven game winning streak, and finished with the top regular season record at 17-3 in conference play.
North Carolina has gone 27-6 overall and smacked the rival Duke Blue Devils just last week in the heated atmosphere of Cameron Indoor Stadium. If the Tar Heels can put away their most vaunted opponents in hostile territory, they should have little trouble doing so again in a neutral setting.
Hubert Davis' team have outscored opponents by 11.6 points per game this season. Led by National Player of the Year candidate RJ Davis' 21.1 points per game, the Tar Heels offense have overwhelmed opponents. However, it's their defense that has been the real difference maker.

North Carolina is an elite defensive squad holding opposing teams to just a 46.1% effective field goal percentage this season, good for 12th in the nation. They allow teams to shoot just 31% from three, and rebound the ball at an elite level. The Tar Heels surrender fewer 93 points per 100 possessions. With a veteran-laden roster and senior Armando Bacot continuing to dominate in the paint the Tar Heels defense will be the catalyst of a deep ACC Tournament run.
