February 21st College Basketball Trends & Picks

Taking the above trends alongside some more in-depth handicapping, here are a few picks I'm focused on for today's men's college basketball games:

Michigan State’s Tre Holloman has gone UNDER 3.5 (-150 at Sportsbook)

For some reason, MSU's Tre Holloman is a entirely different player on the road. He's averaging 0.7 fewer points per game away from home, turning the ball over more, and averaging 1.1 fewer assists. Holloman has gone OVER 3.5 assists in just two of seven road games this season (and UNDER in five of his last six).

Tonight, Holloman faces a Michigan defense that is one of the best in the nation at stopping passes. The Wolverines force 5.8 turnovers per game and allow the 36th-fewest assists per game in the country (11.2 total).

Brown Moneyline (-205 at Sportsbook) vs Columbia

It's hard to blind-bet team trends, especially in college basketball. But, this is a rare exception. We're catching the Brown Bears on a hot strek and Colombia cold enough to confidently fade. Brown has won five of its last seven home games and has covered the spread in three of their last four, overall. The Lions, on the other hand, have lost 10 of their last 11 games overall and haven't covered a spread in over a month (seven games).
