Big West Tournament - Big West title on the line in Anaheim


Two lower seeds will compete for the Big West Tournament championship on Saturday as No. 7 Cal Poly takes on No. 5 Cal State Northridge in hoops action at the Honda Center in Anaheim.

Cal Poly was the favorite according to Sportsbook, which had them at -3.5 earlier Saturday. The total was 134.5.

The Matadors currently sport a 16-17 record overall in NCAAB action, and have posted a corresponding betting slate of 12-13 ATS. The Mustangs are 11-19 and 10-18-1 ATS. Betting totals have seen the Matadors produce a 15-10 OVER/UNDER record on the season, while the Mustangs have gone 14-14-1 against the number.

This game puts the Matadors, most recently No. 170 in the Odds Shark power rankings, up against the Mustangs, who rate No. 182 in the latest survey.



Cal Poly was a 61-58 Sportsbook in its last match on the road against UC Irvine. They covered the 7-point spread as underdogs. Chris Eversley scored 14 points leading the Mustangs to a 61-58 victory over UC Irvine at Honda Center on Friday.

CS Northridge won its last outing, an 82-77 result against Long Beach State on March 14. They covered in that game as a 6.5-point underdog. The Matadors got a terrific 27-point effort from Stephan Hicks as CS Northridge defeated Long Beach State 82-77 on Friday at Honda Center.

When it comes to rebounds, the visiting Mustangs rank No. 225 in NCAA Division 1 with 32.32 per game. That compares with CS Northridge’s No. 118 ranking in that category. The story is different when it comes to three-point shooting where CS Northridge is college basketball's No. 250-ranked team at 4.32 per game, while the Mustangs rate No. 101 with 6.52 per game.
