College Hoops Conference Finals Odds

It comes down to a very familiar but long-awaited battle in the ACC Tournament championship game with the second-seeded Duke Blue Devils pegged as 3-point favorites at Sportsbook.ag when they take on the top-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels on Sunday afternoon at Greensboro Coliseum.

These teams split their regular-season meetings, with the Tar Heels winning by 14 points at home while falling by six on the road. North Carolina is a better rebounding team, but they don’t put up points like the Blue Devils. Duke also gives up fewer points per game, and that’s another reason why they will be the more popular choice on the college hoops betting lines for the ACC championship game.

Bettors will have to decide if the Tar Heels will be fatigued getting into the finals, or more battle-ready than a Duke team riding high after two lopsided victories. Duke (29-4 SU, 16-14 ATS) roared into the final with little doubt as they cruised to an 87-71 win over over Maryland in the quarterfinals and beat up the Virginia Tech Hokies 77-63 in the semifinals.

The Tar Heels (26-6 SU, 15-13 ATS) meanwhile, have struggled through two tough games – coming from behind to knock off Miami 61-59 and downing Clemson in overtime 92-87 in the semifinals.

North Carolina has proven they can beat the Blue Devils, and they covered the spread in both head-to-head matchups this season. Five straight between the teams have made winners of UNDER bettors on the posted total.

Florida (26-6 SU, 12-12-1 ATS) and Kentucky (24-8 SU, 12-13-1 ATS) should be an entertaining final in the Southeastern Conference with the Wildcats as a slight 1-point favorite at the Georgia Dome.

Kentucky pounced on the Alabama Crimson Tide 72-58 in the semifinals, while holding off Ole Miss in the quarters as 8.5-point favorites. Florida has looked very good thus far, with two easy victories over Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

Either way, a bet for one team straight-up could also be an opportunity to cash out on the pointspread wager if the stars align. The teams split two meetings this year, but it’s the Gators who own a 6-3 record against the spread.

OVER bettors might be encouraged to know three of the last four head-to-head have sent them to the payout window.

The surest bet on Sunday appears to be in the Big Ten tourney, where the top-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes (31-2 SU, 15-14 ATS) will be huge 9.5-point favorites at Sportsbook.ag against the Penn State Nittany Lions (19-13 SU, 16-11 ATS), who will be making their first-ever appearance in the conference final.

Penn State can assure themselves a berth in the NCAA Tournament with a victory over Ohio State, but they may have already played their way in with victories over Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan State in the conference tourney.

The Buckeyes have not lost in 10 straight to the Nittany Lions, but only covered the spread in five of those victories. Ohio State will get the majority of the attention on the NCAAB betting lines, and the OVER bet has been the trend for five straight games between these teams.
