FGCU in Tough to Recapture 2013 Magic

The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles crushed Fairleigh Dickinson by a score of 96-65 as 5.5-point favorites in their First Four matchup Tuesday night. Things will get exponentially more difficult in their Round of 64 meeting with the No. 1-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels Thursday.

Many will remember FGCU from its incredible run to the Sweet 16 back in 2013. That year, the Eagles knocked off #2 Georgetown and #7 San Diego State before losing to the third-seed Florida Gators in the Sweet Sixteen.

The Eagles have not had many lined games this season, but have been a hot wager at the betting window of late going 3-1 ATS (4-0 SU) in their last four games, including Tuesday’s win.

The Tar Heels have been heating up at the right time, however, and will an extremely tough Round of 64 matchup if the Eagles want to recapture that magic of 2013.
