Florida vs South Carolina Odds & Picks: Gamecocks Can't Compete In The SEC

South Carolina returns to Colonial Life Arena dragging its five-game skid behind them to host No. 5 Florida. The Gators enter as generous 10.5-point favorites at FanDuel, carrying a promising 7-4 ATS when favored by double-digits.

South Carolina's schedule has been far from generous, falling to three ranked teams in its last five outings—including No. 5 Alabama and No. 2 Auburn. Unfortunately for the Gamecocks, it won't get much better with six ranked teams awaiting across their next seven meetings.

Florida vs South Carolina Picks Today

Florida -10.5 (-114) at Sportsbook

Since the New Year, South Carolina's season has taken a turn for the worse and there isn't light at the end of the tunnel. Between January and March, the Gamecocks are scheduled to clash with 11 ranked programs based off current AP Poll rankings.

Florida is fifth in the KenPom ratings and it's offensive rating sits fourth. Compare that to South Carolina's 131 offensive rating and the Gamecocks are simply outmatched. Not only are the Gators posting 85.9 PPG (ranked sixth), they're capitalizing on every possession with 13.8 offensive rebounds per game, the second-best mark in college basketball. With South Carolina giving up 8.2 offensive rebounds per game, watch for Alex Condon to bury the Gamecocks on the glass. The senior has recorded 10 or more rebounds in four of his last five performances.

Lamont Paris is 0-5 SU in conference play against the top-heavy SEC. While his Gamecocks hold opponents from the perimeter, allowing 18.2 points from three-pointers (ranked 23rd), that's not the Gators' gameplan. Florida is dropping 42.4 PPG from two-pointers (ranked 28th) compared to its 28.2 points from beyond the arc (ranked 41st). Todd Golden's bench will suffocate the Gamecocks down low and their KenPom defensive rating standing at 15th shows they can protect their own backcourt just fine.

Alex Condon OVER 8.5 Rebounds (-132) at Sportsbook

I've already boasted about Condon's ability to attack the glass, leading his Gators with 8.2 rebounds per game. The sophomores confidence on the court has only improved, averaging 7 rebounds in his first nine outings compared to his 17.2 rebounds average since mid-December. Like I already mentioned, South Carolina is allowing 8.2 offensive rebounds and 21.8 defensive rebounds per game that Condon is going to expose tonight. If Condon can scoop 12 rebounds on Tennessee, which allows 30.7 total rebounds per game (ranked 19th), earlier this month—he should be able to cash the OVER against a glum Gamecocks group.
