Iowa Wrapped Up A Solid November With A Win Over Georgia Tech

The Hawkeyes bounced back from their first loss of the season with an 81-65 win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets last Tuesday night. Kris Murray scored a career-high 31 points in the win while also racking up 20 rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Iowa narrowly covered the spread as a 15.5-point favorite to finish up November with an impressive 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS record.

After coming off the bench in 13 games as a freshman in 2020-21 and in all but one of his 35 games played last season, Murray is thriving in his first year as a starter. The junior forward is tied for 16th in the nation in scoring, averaging 21 points per game, and ranks 13th in rebounds with 10.6 per game. It will be interesting to see how Murray fares in his toughest test of the season to date against Duke.

Duke Has Struggled To Cover Spreads Due To Underwhelming Offense

The Blue Devils led the Boston College Eagles by 12 points at halftime and cruised to a 75-59 win at home on Saturday. While the outcome of the game was never really in doubt, Duke failed to cover the spread as a 17.5-point favorite, causing the team to fall to 2-4 ATS over its last six games despite a 5-1 SU record. Mark Mitchell led the team in scoring with 13 points while Kyle Filipowski recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Filipowski has played well as Duke’s latest freshman star, leading the team through its first 10 games with 15.2 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. The Blue Devils aren’t as deep as they usually are on offense, however, and they enter this game ranked 195th in the nation, averaging 72.2 points per game.

Iowa: Keys To Victory

Kris Murray has averaged 10.5 points per game in the two games in which Iowa has failed to cover the spread and 25.2 points in the five games that the team has covered the spread. It’s safe to say that Murray will need to have a big game to give the Hawkeyes a shot as an Iowa vs Duke prediction in this one.

Duke: Keys To Victory

While Duke hasn’t been too flashy on offense this season, the team’s defense has still been very strong, allowing only 58.7 points per game. Another strong defensive effort coupled with a good game from Kyle Filipowski should be enough to score a win as an Iowa vs Duke pick on Tuesday night.
