NCAAB Odds: Jimmy V Classic

The Jimmy V Classic will be played on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden and features two great games for college basketball betting: Memphis Tigers against the Kansas Jayhawks, and Michigan State Spartans against the Syracuse Orangemen.

The Jimmy V classic kicks off with a battle of undefeated teams as Memphis takes on Kansas. Check 5Dimes for up to date basketball lines. While both teams are 7-0 SU, Kansas carries the advantage ATS on NCAAB odds (3-2) over Memphis (1-4).

Memphis picked up its first ATS win of the season Saturday with a 77-61 win over Western Kentucky as a 13-point favorite. This will be the Tigers’ first game against a ranked opponent. Wesley Witherspoon has led the way for Memphis, averaging 13.7 PPG and hitting lights out from behind the arc at 62.5% three-point shooting.

Kansas is an early favorite to go all the way this season. They currently lead the nation in assists per game (21.1) and field goal percentage (.569), leading the Jayhawks to 89.9 PPG (third-best in the country). Tyshawn Taylor has done most of the dishing (6.7 assists per game) to twin stars Marcus and Markieff Morris.

After starting off the season 3-0 ATS on college basketball betting, Kansas has failed to cover in their last two games against Arizona and UCLA.

Michigan State Spartans vs. Syracuse Orangemen, 9:00 PM ET - see the matchup stats and betting trends

Tom Izzo’s Michigan State Spartans will look to hand Syracuse their first loss of the season in the second game of the doubleheader. Look for new basketball lines at Bovada.

It hasn’t been completely smooth sailing for the Spartans, who have already dropped two games (6-2 SU), but in their defense both losses have come to undefeated teams in UConn and Duke. Michigan State is 4-4 ATS on NCAAB odds, including a run of 3-1 ATS over their last four games.

The Spartans’ offense is led by a triple-pronged attack of Kalin Lucas (14.9 PPG), Durrell Summers (14.5 PPG) and Draymond Green (13.8 PPG). Green has dominated on the boards this season, pulling down 9.4 rebounds per game.

Syracuse certainly can’t complain about the overall record at 8-0 SU, but it has been a rocky ride at 1-6 ATS on college basketball betting. In one three-game stretch in November against William & Mary, Michigan, and Georgia Tech, Syracuse survived each game by four or less points. While the wins haven’t all been pretty, finding ways to win close shows off this team’s resiliency.
