North Carolina looks to sweep season series vs Duke

The North Carolina Tar Heels will drive down the road to face their hated rival, the Duke Blue Devils and opened as 7-point underdogs at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Tar Heels knocked off Duke at home earlier in the season and are 4-2 SU in their last six road games.

SHARK BITES
  • North Carolina is 2-4-1 ATS in its last seven games vs Duke.
  • The total has gone UNDER in eight of North Carolina’s 12 games on the road.
  • The total has gone UNDER in six of Duke’s last seven games at home.

UNC will need to recalibrate their focus after coming off a gut-punch of a loss on a buzzer-beater vs Miami. North Carolina is 8-5 SU in 13 road games this season and although they won the national championship last season, this Tar Heels squad isn’t as loaded compared to Duke’s starting lineup of five-star recruits.

Joel Berry II and Luke Maye will be counted on heavily to lead Carolina’s offense which averages 83.6 points per game and ranks second in the ACC. If bettors are backing the Heels, they should note that UNC is 9-3 ATS in its last 12 trips to Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Duke is coming off its own backbreaker of a loss when they got shaved 64-63 vs Virginia Tech last weekend.  The Blue Devils were riding a five-game win streak before that loss and will be excited to get back home where they are 16-1 SU and 10-5 ATS.

There is a little more on the line for this game than bragging rights as the Sportsbook gets the 2-seed in the ACC tournament next week in New York. Although these games are kind of a coin flip when you consider how they match up, it’s worth noting that Duke is 13-6 SU in the last 20 games in this rivalry.

The total opened at 162.5 and although these two teams are scoring machines (ranked 1st and 2nd in the ACC in points per game) the UNDER might be the way to go. The UNDER has hit in Duke’s last five games and they averaged 69 points in those contests. The UNDER also hit when these two adversaries faced each other in February.
