Baylor Opens As Double-Digit Home Favorite Against Oklahoma

Oklahoma vs Baylor Betting Odds

Baylor is up to No. 1 in the national rankings and is a big home favorite against Oklahoma. The Bears have won the last three matchups by an average of nearly 20 points and the Sooners have covered the spread just once in their last six road games.

Oklahoma Sooners vs Baylor Bears

Opening Odds Analysis

Baylor has emerged as one of the truly elite programs this season, undefeated at home and winners of 14 straight games. Meanwhile, the Sooners are just 2-2 on the road, so the Bears opened as 10.5-point favorites in Waco. The total opened at 135.5 points, which seems a little high for two teams that have seen their game totals go UNDER over their most recent stretches of games.

Oklahoma News & Notes

The Sooners snapped a two-game skid by beating TCU 83-63 on Saturday, but there’s very little to get Oklahoma fans excited about its prospects of upsetting Baylor on the road on Monday.

Oklahoma is just 3-10-1 ATS in its last 14 games, it ranks in the middle of the pack in both offensive and defensive scoring, and it has covered the spread in just one of its last six road games. The Sooners’ recent track record against Baylor is also unimpressive: they have lost five of the last six meetings, including three straight losses, and have covered the spread in just one of their last seven contests against the Bears.

In addition, leading scorer Kristian Doolittle is averaging just 6.8 points per game in six career games against Baylor. He’s averaging a career-high 16.4 points per game in his senior season, so he’ll need to deliver his best performance yet against Baylor if his team wants any chance to win.

Baylor News & Notes

Baylor is currently sitting as the No. 1 team in the country, upping its win streak to 14 in a row following its 75-68 victory at Oklahoma State on Saturday. Three of their last four victories have come on the road, including wins against ranked opponents in Texas Tech and Kansas, but don’t expect the Bears to fall into a trap game at home against the Sooners.

After trailing at halftime in just three games all season, while being behind on the scoreboard for just over 22 minutes over their last nine games combined, the Bears found themselves down at halftime and trailed for more than half the game before rallying to beat Oklahoma State.

Don’t figure on the Bears to have two straight sluggish starts, especially at home, where they are undefeated this season. What you could expect is a low-scoring game, as Baylor’s sixth-ranked defense has helped contribute to the total going UNDER in four of its last five games and in five of its last six at home against the Sooners.

Betting Pick: Baylor -10.5

Oklahoma hasn’t been overly impressive this season, while Baylor is legitimately one of the top programs in the country. The Bears will flex their muscles on Monday and cover in what will be a lopsided home win.
