Oregon Ducks Enter Elite 8 on Fire SU

Saturday means it is time for the Elite Eight and the first game on the docket pits the No. 1 Oregon Ducks versus the No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners in the West Region. The Ducks are one of the hottest teams around as they bring an 11-game straight up winning streak into Saturday’s contest versus Buddy Hield and Co.

Shark Bites
  • The total has gone UNDER in seven of Oregon's last 10 games.
  • Oregon is 9-0 SU in its last nine games versus teams with a winning record.
  • Oklahoma is 9-2 SU in its last 11 games after an ATS win in its previous game.

The Ducks covered the spread for the second time in three March Madness games with an 82-68 win over the Duke Blue Devils as 3-point faves in the Sweet 16 round. It was Oregon’s 11th-straight win and the team has gone 7-4 against the spread in the process.

Two of Oregon’s three victories have come by double-digits as the Round of 32 matchup with Saint Joseph’s stands as the lone exception as it prevailed 69-64, failing to cover as 7-point chalk.

Oklahoma enters the Elite Eight round with Buddy Hield playing some of his best basketball of the season. The Sooners defeated the Texas A&M Aggies 77-63 Thursday night, making it their first cover of the tourney. They failed to cover the number versus both CS Bakersfield and VCU, making it seven-straight games where the Sooners failed to cover the number before the win in the Sweet 16.

Hield has guided the Sooners through some troubled waters during the tournament with a 36-point explosion in the 85-81 win over VCU serving as a prime example.

The last time the Ducks reached the Final Four, Lou Gehrig announced his retirement from baseball. If the Ducks hope to reach the Final Four for the first time since 1939, they’ll have to contain the insanely-good Buddy Hield.

Though no team has really figured that out yet.
