Auburn is the real deal, sitting atop the overall KenPom rankings while also carrying the top offensive rating. Averaging 84.5 PPG and giving up 66.5 PPG to manage a balanced attack, the Tigers are riding a 13-game win streak.
Leading the nation with 6.8 blocks per game, Bruce Pearl's group is aggressive in their own zone to prove they're more than just a pretty offensive face. However, with all this praise, it's important to note that the Tigers haven't covered a spread 17-points or more since before Christmas. Meanwhile, Oklahoma has covered in four-straight outings against teams like Vanderbilt, Texas A&M and South Carolina. There's no denying the Sooners have been playing some competitive hoops after a string of tough losses in January.
Auburn may not be known as the biggest threat from the perimeter, averaging a noble 9.7 three-pointers per game (ranked 29th). But, in a close 92-82 performance against Ole Miss, the Tigers sank 14 attempts from beyond the arc to earn the necessary extra points. However, the Sooners allow opponents just a 28.1 3PT%, the fifth-best mark in the nation.
With that being said and Oklahoma playing some pretty decent basketball, I'll back the Sooners against this hefty spread.
