Some of college basketball's best are set to tip off Wednesday night. Below I've outlined three player props for February 19 featuring Tamar Bates to snag three simple rebounds in a thrilling SEC clash between Alabama and Missouri. Then, Marchelus Avery's three-pointers are the only consistency found in Oklahoma State right now.
jason edwards OVER 18.5 Points+Assists Vs Kentucky Wildcats (-120)
Preview: Vanderbilt Commodores vs Kentucky Wildcats, 7:00 p.m. ET
Vanderbilt has played through a terrible month, going 3-5 SU while forced to play against six top-10 ranked programs. The misery isn't ending with four consecutive ranked meetings awaiting. The silver lining is Jason Edwards consistency despite his teams lack of action in the win column.
The junior has cashed the OVER on 18.5 points and assists in his last five road games, averaging 21.6 points and rebounds in that frame. The Commodores hosted the Wildcats three weeks ago with Edwards recording 18 points and four assists in the 74-69 dub, their last ranked win.
tamar bates o 2.5 rebounds vs alabama crimson tide (-140)
Preview: Alabama Crimson Tide vs Missouri Tigers, 9:00 p.m. ET
An intense conference showdown between No. 4 Alabama and No. 15 Missouri should give us some mid-week excitement. Nate Oats is still recovering from a decent loss to Auburn, where a win would've made them the new kings of the SEC. Now, the Tigers can seriously shake up the rankings by potentially giving the Tide their fifth loss of the season. Point is -- there's plenty of incentive to play for if you're Missouri.
'Bama isn't the most reliable on the glass, allowing opponents 36.5 total rebounds per game to group with the bottom half in the nation. Allowing 10.5 offensive rebounds, the Tide are specifically vulnerable in their own zone. Bates has hit the OVER on 2.5 rebounds in six of his last seven appearances at Mizzou Arena, averaging a promising 4.3 rebounds per game.
Marchelus Avery o 1.5 three-pointers vs uCF Knights (-150)
Preview: UCF Knights vs Oklahoma State, 9:00 p.m. ET
UCF are packing six-straight losses in its luggage while visiting Oklahoma State, while the Cowboys are barely squeezing in a win every now and then after a string of losses.
There is one element of consistency to the Cowboys gameplan and that's Avery's three-pointers. The senior has cashed the OVER on 1.5 three-pointers in six-straight games at Gallagher-Iba Arena and his last six outings in general. And he's done so against tougher perimeter threats, sinking at least two threes against a ranked Houston and Texas Tech this month. UCF is allowing a mediocre 34.3% from beyond the arc.
