Thursday's college basketball schedule features a few conference tournament matchups and teams rounding out their regular season schedule. Below I've outlined two player props for March 6 featuring two plus-money bets for Jacari Lane and Tre Holloman to hit the OVER on their points and assists. All odds courtesy of Sportsbook.
It's not just your average Thursday night college basketball game in Alabama tonight. The Jacksonville Dolphins will visit the North Alabama Lions to decide who will take the ASUN Tournament Semifinal—something to play for means something to bet on.
When Jacari Lane stepped on the court for the quarterfinal, the junior didn't hold back and recorded 31 points and when 7-for-8 from beyond the arc (87.5%). There's a noticeable trend for Lane saving his best for any conference trials, dropping 32 points earlier this season in the SOCON/ASUN Challenge against Samford.
But wait—it gets better. Lane has cashed the OVER on 23.5 points and assists in four of his last five games at home, averaging 27.4 points and assists per game.
Michigan State has looked solid, picking up four-straight ranked wins to push themselves to No. 8 in the AP Poll rankings. Leading his Spartans with 3.9 assists, Holloman takes on he brunt of the playmaking. The junior has hit the OVER on 3.5 assists in four of his last five games against bottom 25 defenses for assists allowed, averaging 4.8 assists per game in that span. The Hawkeyes give up 16.1 assists per game and yup, you guessed it—sit in the bottom 25 of the nation for assists allowed.
Oh, that's not all we got for you today. Mitch Bannon has thrown out his back digging up player and team trends for tonight's slate. He's even thrown in a pick for you to tail, too!
FAU’s Baba Miller UNDER 0.5 steals (-120 at Sportsbook)
You’d think a long forward like Baba Miller would get in some lanes and rack up steals, but that’s just not the case. On the season, the FAU forward is averaging just 0.8 steals per game. In his last 15 game’s, he’s gone OVER 0.5 steals just four times. He’s also gone UNDER 0.5 steals in nine-straight road contests.
Tonight, Miller and FAU travel to a UAB team that doesn’t turn the ball over much. They allow just 5.7 opponent steals per game, the 52nd fewest in the country. In the last three contests, they’ve averaged just 5.0 opponent steals against.
