Braden Smith featured in our CBB player props

CBB Player Props Today: Fade Braden Smith

It's the final day of February, which means March Madness is rounding the corner. Friday's college basketball schedule may not feature the household programs, but there's still profit to be found. Below I've outlined three player props for February 28 featuring a pair of bets when the UCLA Bruins visit the Purdue Boilermakers. All odds courtesy of Sportsbook.

braden smith UNDER 1.5 3PM Vs UCLA Bruins (+135)

Preview: UCLA Bruins vs Purdue Boilermakers, 8:00 p.m. ET

Purdue is in the thick of a four game skid, due to a recent schedule that featured three ranked programs. Braden Smith has already struggled from the perimeter while at Mackey Arena, hitting just one three-pointer across 15 attempts in his last five home appearances. To put it into another perspective, the last time the junior drained a three in West Lafayette was January 21.

He won't have much luck against the Bruins either. UCLA is allowing opponents a 31.2 3PT%, strengthening that defense to a 26.3 3PT% across its last three outings. Smith hasn't found luck on the perimeter at home and the Bruins aren't going to allow it tonight.

sebastian Mack oVER 11.5 points+Assists vs purdue boilermakers (-109)

Preview: UCLA Bruins vs Purdue Boilermakers, 8:00 p.m. ET

Let's take advantage of Purdue falling off the wagon for this bet. In their last three matchups, the Boilermakers are allowing 80.7 PPG, which is a noticeable jump from their season average of allowing 70.1 PPG.

The Bruins are an all hands on deck type of team and Mack is in that mix. The sophomore has exceeded 11.5 points and assists in four of his last five games, averaging a 13.4 combo in that span. The exception was a Valentine's Day clash against Indiana, where Mack played just 14 minutes.

bobby durkin oVER 1.5 3PM vs VCU Rams (-190)

Preview: Davidson Wildcats vs VCU Rams, 7:00 p.m. ET

Now, speaking of luck from beyond the arc—Bobby Durkin has plenty of it. The sophomore has cashed the OVER on 1.5 three pointers in 10 straight road meetings, averaging a reliable 3.5 three pointers per game. VCU may (surprisingly) be one of the better programs at guarding the perimeter, allowing 17.4 points from three pointers; which ranks 13th in the nation.

February 28th College Basketball Trends & Pick

UCLA’s Eric Dailey UNDER 1.5 Steals (-164 at Sportsbook)

Eric Dailey just isn’t racking up the steals right now. He’s gone OVER 1.5 steals in just one two of his last seven contests.  Dailey has been held UNDER 1.5 steals in 14 of his last 16 road games, in particular.

Tonight, Dailey and the Bruins face a Purdue team that really doesn’t turn the ball over. The Boilermakers allow just 6.5 opponent steals per game, which is below the national average. They’ve allowed under six steals against in four of their last five games, too.
