Jalen Suggs and the Gonzaga Bulldogs are big favorites over the USC Trojans.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs are three wins away from a perfect season with a 29-0 SU and 15-12-2 ATS record. The No. 1-seeded Bulldogs will try to keep their quest for perfection alive against the No. 6 USC Trojans on Tuesday night.

Opening Odds Analysis

The Bulldogs opened as 9.5-point favorites in the Elite Eight but have been bet down slightly to -9. The UNDER 155 points received enough action to move the total down a full point to 154 points. USC is 6-1 SU and 4-3 ATS over its last seven games.

USC News & Notes

Isaiah White scored 22 points and Tahj Eaddy scored 20 in USC’s comfortable 82-68 win over the Oregon Ducks in the Sweet 16. The Trojans have been thoroughly dominant throughout the NCAA Tournament with wins of 16 points over the Drake Bulldogs, 34 points over the Kansas Jayhawks and 14 points over Oregon.

The most impressive thing about USC’s run into the Elite Eight is that star forward Evan Mobley hasn’t even been doing much of the damage. After leading the team in scoring during the regular season with 16.3 points per game, Mobley has scored only 10 points in each of the team’s last two games. If the rest of the team keeps up its recent levels of production and Mobley has a big game on Tuesday night, an upset isn’t out of the question.

Gonzaga News & Notes

Gonzaga also picked up a dominant win in the Sweet 16 as Drew Timme scored 22 points to help lead the Bulldogs to an 83-65 win over the Creighton Bluejays. Like the Trojans, all of Gonzaga’s wins in the tournament so far have been in blowout fashion with an average margin of victory of 25.7 points.

The Bulldogs have been one of the nation’s most consistent teams in the NCAA Tournament with six straight trips to the Sweet 16. All but two of those six teams advanced into the Elite Eight, but only one was able to move on to the Final Four. Last year’s 31-2 SU and 17-15-1 ATS squad didn’t get the chance to go on a deep run when the postseason was canceled; will this year’s squad be the one to bring Gonzaga its first national championship?

Betting Pick: USC +9

This should be a more competitive game than the current spread indicates. Gonzaga’s depth and experience likely gives the Bulldogs the edge in the end, but USC has been playing too well to go down without a fight.
