Pac 12 Final: Stanford takes on ASU

Stanford hammered Arizona State 42-28 at home in a September game that wasn’t as close as the final score indicated. But the Sun Devils are the favorites in a rematch in the Pac-12 Championship Game at Arizona State.

Stanford led 29-0 at halftime of the first meeting. Arizona State scored three quick touchdowns to open the fourth quarter, but never seriously threatened to complete the comeback. Stanford possessed the ball for 11 minutes more than Arizona State.

The Sun Devils have won seven straight games, with their only losses coming against Stanford and Notre Dame. They are led by prolific quarterback Taylor Kelly, who has passed for 3,337 yards with 27 touchdowns.

Both of Stanford’s losses came on the road against Utah and USC. The Cardinal survived a stern test from Notre Dame last week.

Fourteen of Arizona State’s last 20 games have gone OVER the total. The OVER is 9-3 in the past 12 ASU games where they are favored. The first two Pac 12 title games also played OVER the total.

Stanford meanwhile is riding a hot 8-1 ATS streak as an underdog into this Pac 12 final.

ASU has won eight straight conference games (6-2 ATS), while Stanford is 15-2 SU in its past 17 conference games as these schools have  dominated Pac-12 foes.

The Sun Devils currently sport a record of 10-2, and have posted a corresponding betting slate of 7-5 ATS. The Cardinal are 10-2 and 6-6 ATS. Betting totals have seen the Sun Devils post a 9-3 over under record this season, while the Cardinal have gone 5-7 against the number.
