The battle for position in the BCS standings rages on as the college football regular season heads into its final few weeks.

We remain focused on using these final few weeks to find the matchups that can provide a big return for anyone who enjoys wagering on the games.

To help get you ready for all of the action in Week 12, the following is a preview of the biggest line moves, biggest underdogs, and biggest battles on this week’s slate of games. All lines quoted are provided by 5Dimes.

Biggest College Football Line Moves - Week 12

Penn State is ineligible for the postseason because of NCAA sanctions, but it is still looking to close out the season on a high note with a couple of wins. This week it opened as a 14-point home favorite over Indiana, but the betting public must have been impressed with the Lions’ near-miss last Saturday against Nebraska by pushing the spread to 18.5 points.

Washington State is riding a seven-game losing streak into Saturday’s Pac-12 matchup against 5-5 Arizona State. The Cougars opened as 19-point road underdogs but this has been pushed to 22 points with the Sun Devils still trying to become bowl eligible.

Two of the worst teams in the Big Ten square off against each other when Purdue faces Illinois. The 4-6 Boilermakers are currently favored by 7 points on the road after the line opened at 4.5. This is a true testament to just how bad the 2-8 Fighting Illini are this season.

Biggest College Football Underdogs - Week 12

Anytime a team loses four starting quarterbacks in one season, there is a good chance it will not be favored in too many games. That is clearly the case this week with Maryland playing host to No. 10 Florida State as a 31-point underdog.

Boise State is not nearly the national power it once was, but this season it is a power in the Mountain West as a 28-point home favorite in this Saturday’s conference matchup against Colorado State.

No. 3 Notre Dame is still on the outside looking in when it comes to the BCS title game, but it will try and swing a few more points its way this Saturday with an impressive victory over the ACC’s Wake Forest Demon Deacons as a 23.5-point home favorite.

Biggest College Football Battles - Week 12

These are only three head-to-head battles between ranked teams this Saturday starting with a long-time Pac-12 rivalry between the No. 18 USC Trojans and the No. 17 UCLA Bruins. The Trojans are currently 4-point favorites on the road with the total line set at 65.5.

The next big showdown takes us to the Big 12 for a battle between No. 23 Texas Tech and No. 24 Oklahoma State. The Red Raiders go on the road as 10.5-point underdogs against the Cowboys with the total set at 72.

The final battle of the day is a Saturday night clash in the Pac-12 between No. 13 Stanford and No. 2 Oregon. This game is one of the final few hurdles the Ducks will have to clear to get back to the BCS title game. They are currently favored by 20.5 points at home with the total set at 64.5.
