Biggest College Football Bets - Week 6

Week 6 of the college football season packs some big showdowns between major conference heavyweights, but we continue to focus all our energy on a couple of big picks that will provide a big payday for anyone who enjoys wagering on the games.

The following is a look at the biggest line moves, biggest underdogs, and biggest battles to help you get ready for this week’s games. All lines quoted provided by 5Dimes.

Biggest College Football Line Moves - Week 6

No. 18 Stanford is back in action after last Thursday’s shocking 17-14 loss to Washington as a 7-point home favorite. The Cardinal opened as 12-point home favorites for this Saturday’s game against Arizona, but a lack of confidence from the betting public has shrunk that spread to 9.5 points.

It has not been the best of starts for Wisconsin with a 3-2 record straight-up, but its near miss last week against No. 21 Nebraska in a three-point loss as an 11-point underdog has restored some confidence in this team. The Badgers opened as 11.5-point home favorites against Illinois, but that line has climbed to 14.5 points over the course of the week.

Conversely, confidence has to be shaken a bit when it comes to No. 15 TCU after it struggled to get by SMU last Saturday in a 24-16 win as a 13.5-point road favorite. The Horned Frogs were opened as 14.5-point favorites at home this Saturday against Iowa State, but the betting public has driven this spread down to 11 points.

Biggest College Football Underdogs - Week 6

The start of conference play has eliminated some of the crazy spreads that non-conference mismatches often create but there are still a couple of huge spreads on the board starting with No. 7 Kansas State favored by 24 points at home against Kansas in a Big 12 matchup.

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, which is now the pride of a watered-down Western Athletic Conference, have been opened as 24.5-point favorites this Saturday night when they play host to the Mountain West’s UNLV Rebels.

In a late-night start in the Pacific Northwest, the No. 2-ranked Oregon Ducks are back in action as 24-point favorites at home against No. 23 Washington. The 5-0 Ducks have been favored by 30 or more points in four of those games, but they are just 1-4 against the spread this season.

Biggest College Football Battles - Week 6

In addition to the Washington vs. Oregon game there are four other head-to-head matchups on this Saturday’s schedule between teams currently ranked in the AP’s Top 25. The SEC starts things off with No. 4 LSU squaring off against No. 10 Florida as a 2.5-point favorite on the road at 3:30 p.m. Later in the day, No. 5 Georgia travels to No. 6 South Carolina with the Gamecocks favored by two points.

The big showdown in the Big 12 pits No. 8 West Virginia against No. 11 Texas with the Longhorns 6.5-point home favorites in a 7 p.m. start. The Big Ten chimes in with a matchup between No. 21 Nebraska and No. 12 Ohio State in Columbus. The game is set to get underway at 8 p.m. with the Buckeyes favored by three points.
