Biggest College Football Line Moves - Week 9
The betting public seems to be focusing more on Purdue’s two blowout losses at home instead of last Saturday’s near miss at knocking off Ohio State for this Saturday’s matchup against Minnesota. The Boilermakers opened as 6-point favorites on the road, but that line has been sharpened to just 3 points.
No. 2 Florida can pretty much lock up the SEC East Division with a win this Saturday against No. 10 Georgia. The Bulldogs opened as 3-point underdogs at home and the betting public jumped all over the Gators to push the spread all the way to 7 points.
This could be due to Georgia’s recent lackluster performances in a lopsided loss to South Carolina and tight win over Kentucky.
It has been a miserable season for an Auburn team that is just a few years removed from a national title. The Tigers are still looking for their first win in the SEC and face No. 20 Texas A&M at home this Saturday. Auburn quarterback Kiehl Frazier is listed as questionable with an arm injury, but it is hard to believe that is the reason that the Tigers went from being 8.5-point underdogs at home against the Aggies to whopping 15.5-point home dogs.
Biggest College Football Underdogs - Week 9
This week’s biggest spread is chart topping and could be the largest line posted for a conference game this year. The Colorado Buffaloes opened as 45.5-point road underdogs for Saturday’s Pac-12 matchup against No. 4 Oregon and the line has held steady ever since.
Vanderbilt takes a week off from its brutal schedule in the SEC to step way down in class with a matchup against the Massachusetts Minutemen, who stepped-up to Division-IA this season by joining the Mid-American Conference. The Commodores are 32.5-point favorites at home for this game.
Duke may still be celebrating last week’s stunning last-second victory over its arch-rival, North Carolina, as an 8.5-point underdog at home, but the Blue Devils are in for a harsh dose of reality as 27-point road underdogs this Saturday against No. 12 Florida State.
Another head-to-head matchup between ranked opponents in the SEC features a clash between No. 11 Mississippi State and No. 1 Alabama this Saturday night. Despite the Bulldogs’ lofty ranking, do not expect a close game with the Crimson Tide favored by 24 points at home.
Biggest College Football Battles - Week 9
One of the other matchups between ranked teams this Saturday takes us to the Big 12 for a conference showdown between No. 14 Texas Tech and No. 3 Kansas State in a 3:30 p.m. start. The Wildcats are 7-point home favorites over the Red Raiders.
The marquee matchup of Week 9 pits the No. 5 Notre Dame Fighting Irish against the No. 8 Oklahoma Sooners in a game with major BCS implications. The Sooners opened as 9.5-point home favorites for Saturday night’s showdown, but that spread has been pushed to 11 points on the latest board.
