The Clemson Tigers were 13-0 SU and 9-4 ATS in their previous 13 road games before losing in double overtime to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on November 7. The Tigers will try to start up a new road winning streak Saturday night when they visit the Virginia Tech Hokies.
Sportsbook Odds Analysis
The Sportsbook line and total have remained steady early in the week in this matchup with the Tigers going off as 21.5-point road favorites and the total set at 66.5 points. The last 10 games between the Tigers and Hokies have leaned heavily toward the UNDER at 8-2.
Clemson News & Notes
A week after their game against the Florida State Seminoles was canceled at the last minute, the Tigers took their frustrations out on the Pittsburgh Panthers last Saturday. Going off as 24-point favorites at home, Clemson left no doubt in a 52-17 win that opened with a 31-0 first quarter.
Trevor Lawrence finished up his day with 403 passing yards and two passing touchdowns while Travis Etienne led the team to 145 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns in the blowout win.
Clemson wraps up its regular season with Saturday’s game against Virginia Tech. With another Florida State game postponed last Saturday, the Tigers may not have the chance to make up their missed game against the Seminoles. Either way, Clemson will likely find itself in the ACC championship game against Notre Dame with a chance to avenge its only loss of the season.
Virginia Tech News & Notes
Virginia Tech’s season got off to a promising enough start with a 4-2 SU and 3-3 ATS run that included solid wins at home against the NC State Wolfpack and on the road against the Louisville Cardinals.
Unfortunately for the Hokies, that run of success has given way to a 0-3 SU and ATS record in November that includes an ugly 38-35 loss to the Liberty Flames as 17-point home favorites.
The Hokies are coming off their worst offensive performance of the season as they lost 47-14 in their last game against Pittsburgh. Virginia Tech has had a bye week to prepare for this game and is 4-2 SU and 5-1 ATS in its last six games coming off a bye.
The team has also historically played well on defense with an extra week to prepare as the UNDER is 9-1 in the Hokies’ last 10 games after a bye.
Betting Pick: Clemson -21.5
The Tigers are dialed in and healthy just in time to win another ACC championship and make another run in the College Football Playoff. They aren’t likely to take their foot off the gas against the struggling Hokies this weekend.
