College Football Betting Picks - Week 2

The 2012 college football season enters its second week of action with a number of golden opportunities on the slate on which to cash in.

Here are a couple of our top plays along with a few matchups that have peaked the interest of the OddsShark Consensus.

College Football Pick of the Week

This week we turn our attention to an SEC showdown between No. 24 Florida and Texas A&M. The Gators have been opened by Sportsbook as 1-point favorites on the road with the total set at 50. They got by Bowling Green last week 27-14 as 28-point favorites and looked like a work in progress especially, at the quarterback position.

Jeff Driskel has been named the Gators’ starter for this game. The Aggies have to be fired up to host their first game in their new conference and while there are a number of question marks with this team as well, Kyle Field in College Sportsbook has never been an easy place to win a game. Another game of interest in the SEC pits the No. 7 Georgia Bulldogs on the road as 2-point favorites over Missouri in the Tigers' first game in the conference. Georgia could not cover the 38-point spread in an Sportsbook day 45-23 victory over Buffalo, but this team is just warming up.

The Bulldogs got a solid performance out of Aaron Murray at quarterback and Todd Gurley rushed for 100 yards. Look for these two to come up big on Saturday against a Missouri team that may not be ready for the speed of the SEC as compared to its previous experience in the Big 12. Georgia 27, Missouri 17

The OddsShark Consensus

The OddsShark Consensus is all over the Bowling Green Falcons after last week’s performance against Florida. They are 16.5-point favorites at Sportsbook at home over Idaho, which lost to Eastern Washington 20-3 last week as a 5-point favorite at home. The current percentage is 71.5.

A few other games include Arkansas State at -23 points at home against Memphis at 70.8 percent, Florida International at -23.5 points at home against Akron at 70.6 percent, and USC at -26 points in a neutral-site game against Syracuse at 70.5 percent. One game they love on the total line has the Rice at Kansas game staying UNDER the 62-point line.

The Best of the Rest

A couple of other games that are high on our radar are a trio of Big Ten/Pac-12 matchups, starting with No. 13 Wisconsin on the road against Oregon State as a 7-point favorite at Sportsbook. Next up, No. 16 Nebraska heads out to the west coast as a 5-point favorite over UCLA. The nightcap in this series pits Illinois against Arizona State as a 4-point underdog on the road.
