College Football Betting Picks - Week 6

Conference play is now in full swing as college football heads into Week 6 of the season. With a full slate of intriguing matchups on tap for this Saturday, we have uncovered a couple of golden opportunities on which to place a timely wager. The following are our top two plays as well as a look at which teams have caught the eye of the OddsShark Consensus this week. All lines quoted have been provided by Sportsbook.

Pick of the Week

It has been close to two weeks since No. 17 Oklahoma was stunned by Kansas State 24-19 as a 15.5-point home favorite, so you know that Bob Stoops will have his Sooners fired up for Saturday’s game against Texas Tech after coming off a bye. Adding fuel to this fire is the revenge factor for last season’s 41-38 loss to the Red Raiders as 29-point favorites at home. Oklahoma is a 5.5-point favorite this time around and given that it is 20-7 against the spread in its last 27 games following a straight-up loss stick with the Sooners to cover again on Saturday afternoon. Oklahoma 34, Texas Tech 27

No. 3 Florida State has already won its first two ACC games this season against Wake Forest and Clemson by a combined 64 points so it is easy to understand why the Seminoles are 15-point road favorites in this Saturday’s conference game against North Carolina State. The Wolfpack have lost four of the last five meetings SU including a 34-0 beatdown last season as 18.5-point underdogs on the road. That was against a much less talented Florida State squad, which does not paint a pretty picture for this year’s contest. Florida State 42, NC State 20

The OddsShark Consensus

The top pick on this week’s OddsShark Consensus list at 71.2 percent has UCLA covering a 2.5-point spread on the road against California. A close second at 70.8 percent expects No. 7 Kansas State to roll over Kansas as a 24.5-point home favorite. The consensus is at 71.9 percent that this game also goes OVER the 53-point total line.

A few other games on the list has Mississippi State beating Kentucky on the road by more than 10 points at 70.2 percent and Louisiana-Lafayette covering a 27.5 point spread at home against Tulane at 69.9 percent. The top pick on the total line has the No. 23 Washington at No. 2 Oregon game going OVER the 65-point line at 73.5 percent.

The Best of the Rest

The SEC owns this category this week with two huge showdowns starting with No. 4 LSU on the road against No. 10 Florida with the Tigers favored by 2.5 points in a 3:30 p.m. start. The total for this game has been set at 42. The next matchup pits No. 5 Georgia against No. 6 South Carolina with the Gamecocks favored by 1 point at home in a 7 p.m. kick off. The total is set at 54.

The Big Ten chimes in with No. 21 Nebraska on the road against No. 12 Ohio State as a 3-point underdog and the big game in the Big 12 is a clash between No. 8 West Virginia and No. 11 Texas with the Longhorns favored by 6.5 points at home.
