College Football Week 12 Betting Recap

In the biggest game of Week 12 of the college football betting slate the Alabama Crimson Tide bounced the Mississippi State Bulldogs 25-20 to stake their claim on a berth in the College Football Playoff - but failed to cover the posted spread at the sportsbooks.

Alabama, which had entered Week 12 at No. 5 in the College Football Playoff Rankings, had been favored by 10 points against No. 1 Mississippi State and gave up a pair of fourth-quarter TDs to come away with the ATS loss.

No. 2 Florida State, meanwhile, remained perfect at 10-0 SU and picked up a rare cover to move to 3-7 ATS with a slim 30-26 win over Miami in Week 12 as a 3-point favorite. No. 2 Oregon was on a bye in Week 12, while No. 4 TCU topped Kansas 34-30 but couldn't cover a big spread of 27.5 points at the sportsbooks.

Mississippi State was one of many teams sitting in the Top 25 of the College Football Playoff Rankings to lose SU in Week 12, with No. 6 Arizona State falling 35-27 to Oregon State as a 9-point favorite and No. 9 Auburn losing 34-7 to No. 15 Georgia as a 2.5-point underdog. No. 21 Duke, No. 18 Notre Dame, No. 24 Texas A&M, No. 17 LSU, No. 16 Nebraska, and No. 19 Clemson also lost SU in Week 12, with No. 25 Minnesota falling 31-24 to No. 8 Ohio State but covering as a 14-point underdog.

No. 12 Michigan State beat Maryland 37-15 and covered an 11-point spread in Week 12, with No. 23 Utah beating Stanford 20-17 as an 8-point underdog. No. 14 Arizona had to settle for just a SU win against Washington, beating them 27-26 as a 9.5-point favorite.
