The Mississippi State Bulldogs were 2.5-point favorites against the rival Ole Miss Rebels for their Week 14 matchup, but they lost both SU and ATS in a 31-17 decision that effectively dropped them from contention for a berth in the College Football Playoffs.
Mississippi State entered last week at No. 4 in the CFP Rankings, but when the update comes out this week they'll have fallen out of the projected field for the four-team playoff. Staying in the four-team field will be Florida State, with the Seminoles managing to pull out a 24-19 win over Florida in Week 14 but yet again failing to cover the posted spread (7.5 points). The Seminoles are 12-0 SU but 3-9 ATS this season.

The top two teams in last week's CFP Rankings both won and covered in Week 14, with Alabama knocking off Auburn 55-44 as an 8.5-point favorite in the Iron Bowl, and Oregon getting past Oregon State 47-19 as a 19.5-point favorite. Like Florida State, Alabama and Oregon will be in action once again in the upcoming week in their respective conference championship games.
TCU, Baylor, and Ohio State also remained in contention for a CFP Berth in Week 14 with key victories, with the Horned Frogs beating Texas 48-10 as a 5.5-point favorite, the Bears holding off Texas Tech for a 48-46 win as a 25-point favorite, and the Buckeyes weathering the loss of starting quarterback J.T. Barrett with a 42-28 win over Michigan as a 21-point favorite.
Elsewhere in Week 14, Marshall's undefeated run came to an end with a 67-66 loss to Western Kentucky as a 23.5-point favorite, while UCLA fell 31-10 to Stanford as a 6-point favorite, and Arizona got past rival Arizona State 42-35 as a 2.5-point favorite. Georgia was a 12.5-point favorite for their game against Georgia Tech, but the Yellow Jackets came away with a 30-24 victory.
