The Florida State Seminoles continued their streak of ATS losses in Week 5, beating North Carolina State by a score of 56-41 but failing to cover the 18.5-point spread at the sportsbooks. The Seminoles are now 4-0 SU and 0-4 ATS through the first five weeks of the college football season.
Two ranked teams picked up SU losses in Week 5, although Arizona State fell to another ranked team, UCLA, by a 62-27 score as a 3-point underdog on the betting lines. The lone ranked team to fall to a team outside the Top 25 was South Carolina, which got edged 21-20 by Missouri as a 5-point favorite.

Texas A&M needed overtime to top Arkansas 35-28 in Week 5, failing to cover the 10-point spread at the sportsbooks in the process. As well, some ATS results were close depending on when you placed your wager, with Baylor topping Iowa State 49-28 as around a 21-point favorite, Ole Miss topping Memphis 24-3 as around a 21-point favorite, and Stanford topping Washington 20-13 as around a 7.5-point favorite.
LSU covered a 42.5-point spread in a 63-7 win over New Mexico State, with Michigan State covering the 27.5 points in a 56-14 win over Wyoming, USC getting past Oregon State 35-10 as a 9-point favorite, and Notre Dame knocking off Syracuse 31-15 as a 9.5-point favorite at MetLife Stadium. Auburn beat Louisiana Tech 45-17, but that was as a 32-point favorite.
