Quarterback Russell Wilson was supposed to be the missing link for the Broncos, helping a stagnant offense flow forward and take advantage of the talent at the skill positions.

That has obviously not been the case so far, with Denver failing to get anything going offensively and relying on the defense to earn two wins.

Wilson will get another chance to show he can be the guy at Las Vegas just like Kyler Murray was able to prove his doubters wrong two weeks ago in rallying his Arizona Cardinals back from a 20-0 halftime deficit to a 29-23 overtime win.

However, the Raiders have owned the Broncos lately, covering the spread in eight of the past nine meetings and winning six straight at home.

Total Team Effort Needed For Las Vegas To Register First Victory

The Raiders have been the NFL’s biggest disappointment, and it is extremely difficult to find any positives in their start under new head coach Josh McDaniels.

But McDaniels will be facing the only other team he has ever served as a head coach for here in the Broncos, and he should be extra motivated to not only defeat them but also outwit counterpart Nathaniel Hackett.

The two supposed offensive minds have not looked very smart to date, and each will have a chance to showcase their game plans in a key AFC West matchup.

Las Vegas needs to play defense as it did in the second half of last week’s 24-22 road loss to the Tennessee Titans, who did not score after the intermission. Pair that with the first half against the Arizona Cardinals a week earlier, and a victory might be in the cards.

And it would serve Denver well for him to begin at Las Vegas against a team that has struggled mightily to get a win. He may not be the same player with his legs as Murray at this stage of their respective careers, but Wilson’s receivers are good enough to exploit the Raiders defensively and beat them.

It is sounding like a broken record in Vegas, but All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams needs the ball more. McDaniels put a couple razzle-dazzle plays in his playbook last week at Tennessee, but Adams continues to be the most expensive decoy in the league. The Raiders have dominated the Broncos without him, and they should be better with him.
