Sportsbook Odds Analysis

Georgia opened as a 24.5-point road favorite while the total was set at 53 points. Arkansas lost its last nine outings in 2019 but did cover the spread in its last two games as a double-digit underdog. The UNDER is 7-0 in Georgia’s last seven games against SEC opponents.

Georgia News & Notes

Jamie Newman transferred to Georgia from Wake Forest as a graduate and was expected to be the team’s starter this season, but earlier this month he opted out of the 2020 season due to coronavirus concerns. That leaves a hole at quarterback that will likely be filled by former USC Trojans quarterback JT Daniels or redshirt freshman D’Wan Mathis.

Georgia’s elite defense and running game will keep the Bulldogs in contention for a playoff spot this season. But losing its starting quarterback and not having a full offseason to work with potential replacements could have a major impact on Georgia’s season.

The Bulldogs went 12-2 SU and 8-6 ATS last season for their third straight campaign with at least 11 wins; anything short of a playoff berth will feel like a disappointment for Kirby Smart’s group.

Arkansas News & Notes

The pieces are here for Arkansas to put together an improved season on offense. Feleipe Franks joined the team as a graduate transfer after starting 25 games for the Florida Gators over the last three seasons. Tailback Rakeem Boyd also returns coming off an impressive campaign in which he rushed for 1,133 yards and eight touchdowns.

But will Arkansas’ defense be any better? The Razorbacks finished the 2019 season ranked 110th in total defense in allowing 450.7 total yards per game and 122nd in scoring defense, yielding 36.8 points per game.

New defensive coordinator Barry Odom has a lot of work ahead of him trying to turn this unit around, especially with a shortened offseason. Arkansas finished the 2019 season on a 0-9 SU and 3-6 ATS run.

Betting Pick: UNDER 53

It’s possible that Georgia picks up a blowout win in Arkansas, but it’s also possible that this offense struggles to jell with so many new pieces on it. Given that we can trust Georgia’s defense to smother all but the most elite opponents, the UNDER feels like the play here.
