Sportsbook Odds Analysis

Early action on the Sportsbook line of Georgia -14.5 has made the Bulldogs a slightly bigger favorite at Georgia -15. The movement on the total has been greater with bettors pounding the UNDER from its opener of 45 points down to 42.5 points. The UNDER is 10-2 in Kentucky’s last 12 games against SEC opponents.

Georgia News & Notes

Georgia took a 24-20 lead into halftime on the road against the Alabama Crimson Tide in its last game. But the second half was all Alabama as the Crimson Tide rolled to a 41-24 win.

Stenson Bennett had two touchdown passes and one interception in the first half of that matchup before throwing two picks and failing to lead the team on a scoring drive in the second half.

Before this loss, Bennett had five touchdown passes and no interceptions through his first three games, including home wins over the ranked Auburn Tigers and Tennessee Volunteers.

Georgia’s defense had also allowed only 12.3 points per game in those three wins before getting torched by Alabama. The Bulldogs still control their own destiny in the SEC East with important games on Saturday against Kentucky and next week against the Florida Gators.

Kentucky News & Notes

After a disappointing 20-10 loss last Saturday as 3-point home favorites against the Missouri Tigers, there could be some changes on the depth chart in Kentucky this Saturday. Starting quarterback Terry Wilson went just 4-for-11 with 38 passing yards in the loss and has been listed as questionable to start this game against Georgia as the depth chart lists Saturday’s starter as Wilson OR Joey Gatewood.

Similarly, starting running back A.J. Rose now has an “OR” next to his name on the depth chart as well, suggesting that Chris Rodriguez Jr. may see more carries against the Bulldogs.

Kentucky’s defense has been outstanding and has allowed only 9.7 points per game over the team’s last three games. Wilson has been serviceable as the team’s quarterback, but the Wildcats have lacked any real explosion on offense, averaging only 24.4 points per game.

Betting Pick: Georgia -15

This game will in all likelihood be a low-scoring affair in which Georgia does most of the scoring, making the top pick in the game a close call between the Bulldogs -15 and the UNDER 42.5. The UNDER leaves a bit less room for error; Georgia should win comfortably even if the Wildcats score enough to push the score slightly OVER this low total.
