    This line hasn’t budged an inch at the majority of books, remaining firm at Wyoming -7. The total has seen only slight movement, down from a 49.5 Sportsbook to 48.5.

    The Cowboys know where their proverbial bread is buttered on offense – and they aren’t shy about hammering the point home. Wyoming ran the ball nearly two-thirds of the time during the season (the seventh-highest rate in the nation) and succeeded, averaging 4.7 yards per carry while ranking 28th in the country at 208.7 rushing yards per game.

    Yet, for as dominant as the Cowboys have been on the ground (led by Xazavian Valladay and his 1,061 rushing yards), their run defense has been even more impressive. Only five FBS programs were stingier than Wyoming, which limited opponents to 99.4 rush yards per outing. It’s a big reason why the Cowboys finished the year with six consecutive UNDERS.

    The Panthers finished inside the top 50 nationally in scoring offense (32.4 ppg) but did most of their damage in that regard in the early stages of the season, finishing below their season average in each of their final four games (1-3 SU, 1-3 ATS). Even more discouraging: they failed to come within 14 points of covering in any of their three defeats over that stretch.

    And it gets worse ahead of Georgia State’s third bowl appearance. The Panthers allowed a whopping 211.6 rushing yards per game this season, ahead of only 14 other FBS programs. Georgia State was gashed for 5.3 yards per carry while surrendering 31 touchdowns on the ground, both of which played a major role in the Panthers ranking 120th in scoring defense.

    Betting Pick: UNDER

    Wyoming’s defense is legit – and so, too, is the Cowboys’ run game, which should help control the clock sufficiently to limit Georgia State’s offensive upside and make the UNDER the superior totals option.
