The Washington Huskies and the Oklahoma State Cowboys will get a reprieve from winter on January 2 when they meet up in the desert in the Cactus Bowl.
The Huskies won the Fight Hunger Bowl last year, toppling BYU 31-16 as a 4-point underdog. Even with the win Washington still owns a lacklustre 3-6 record SU and a 4-5 record ATS in their last nine bowl games.
The Cowboys were a 3-point favorite in last year’s Cotton Bowl, but were upset by Missouri 41-31. That snapped a three-bowl winning streak for Oklahoma State and dropped them to 2-4 ATS in their last six bowl games.

Cactus Bowl Betting Trends: Washington was 13-0 SU this year as favorites . . . Past three Cactus Bowls (Insight Bowls) played UNDER the total.
Washington had quite an up and down regular season. The Huskies started off 4-0, before winning only two of their next seven games. Washington was able to salvage their season with back-to-back wins in their final games, including a 31-13 win over rival Washington State in their regular season finale.
The Cowboys needed a 38-35 upset win over Oklahoma as a 19.5-point underdog in their final game to secure a bowl invite. That shocking win snapped a five-game losing streak for the Cowboys during which they were 1-4 ATS. As the underdog this season Oklahoma State was 1-6 SU and 3-4 ATS.
Oklahoma State previously appeared in the Cactus Bowl back in 2007. They faced Indiana and recorded a 49-33 win as a 6.5-point favorite.

Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl Betting Trends: Formerly known as the Insight Bowl . . . The OVER is 11-4 in the last 15 Insight Bowl games . . . The OVER is 11-2 in the last 13 bowl games involving Michigan . . . Kansas State is 1-8 ATS in their last nine bowl game appearances.
The Michigan Wolverines reached as high as 11th in the national rankings after starting the season with five straight victories. However, they struggled thereafter, going 2-5 SU and 4-3 ATS the rest of the way. The Wolverines were 15.5-point dogs in their last outing against Ohio State, a game in which they overcame a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit before falling to the Buckeyes 42-41. Michigan are 3-2 ATS in their last five, but twice recorded negative total rushing yards and failed to produce better than 152 ground yards in any game during that stretch. Kansas State has accumulated a mere 386 rushing yards combined in their last three games, but have only allowed more than 123 yards rushing once in their last five. The Wildcats have won four of their last five SU and are 6-2 ATS in their last eight, but are just 3-3 ATS as favorites.

The Michigan State Spartans only turned in two OVER results in 12 games this season, which will make them interesting to totals bettors on the college football odds as they take on TCU in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl on December 29 in Tempe.

[Insight Bowl Matchup Stats]
Coming into the year with the No. 1 ranking, the Oklahoma Sooners had much higher hopes than playing in the Insight Bowl. But here they are, and they’ll take on the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Oklahoma looked poised to make a run at the national championship at 6-0 SU (4-2 ATS), but the Sooners went just 3-3 SU (2-4 ATS) in the second half of their schedule, including an inexplicable home loss to Texas Tech. Season-ending injuries to star wide receiver Ryan Broyles and running back Dominique Whaley didn’t help matters down the stretch. Iowa had a decent year in a rebuilding campaign, highlighted by an upset win over Michigan in November.
Landry Jones failed to live up to preseason Heisman Trophy hype and took a step backwards from last year’s production. Still, he ended up fourth in the nation in passing yards with 4,302, and had 28 touchdown passes with 14 interceptions.
-------------------------------
Despite the dismissal of their all-time top receiver and the benching of their best running back, Iowa rolls into the Insight Bowl as just a slight 1-point underdog to 14th-ranked Missouri in the NCAAF odds menu.

Spread / Total (from Sportsbook)
Missouri -1 / 47 Points
[Insight Bowl Matchup Stats]
Consecutive losses to Nebraska and Texas Tech cost Missouri a trip to their third Big 12 championship in four years, but a win in the Insight Bowl will take some of the sting out of those defeats. The Tigers rebounded to take their final three games and can reach the 11-win mark if they take down the Hawkeyes.
The Tigers are known to spread the ball around on offense, as three different backs had at least 380 yards. Missouri will rely mostly on its FBS sixth-best 15.2 points per game allowed to shut down the relentless Hawkeyes.
Missouri should draw lots of interest in college football betting circles with the intriguing Insight Bowl odds. The strong finish by Missouri and sluggish end for Iowa should lend plenty of confidence to bettors who think Missouri will be an easy line to cover.
Iowa hopes to silence all doubters in NCAAF odds for this game, but when two of your best players are gone it can be a daunting task – or a rallying cry. The Hawkeyes were ranked ninth entering the season and were expecting to earn a second consecutive trip to a BCS game.
Three straight losses brought them to fourth in the conference and the Hawkeyes will now have to overcome adversity to get a school-record third straight postseason victory.
Usually a total set at 47 for a college game is not conducive to UNDER betting, but considering these teams combined to pay UNDER bettors 15 times this season you may think twice on that wager.
