Line Moves: College Football Week 11

Most of the news around college football this week has revolved around the scandal at Penn state and Joe Paterno’s being fired, but there are still dozens of other games on the board and some of them featured large line movements.

Here’s a look at four games with some of the biggest line movements in Week 11.

Wyoming @ Air Force (from -11.5 to -16.5 at 5Dimes)

Wyoming has been a solid team this season at 5-3 both SU and ATS, but they are this week’s biggest fade as the line moved a full five points against them. Wyoming’s three losses all came against teams that rushed for over 300 yards, and Air Force averages 310.4 yards per game, which could explain why they are a popular pick.

Hawaii @ Nevada (from -12.0 to -16.0 at Bovada)

Not much separates Hawaii (5-4 SU) and Nevada (5-3 SU) in the standings, but early bettors were quick to jump on Nevada as a convincing favorite at home. Hawaii is just 2-3 SU and 1-4 ATS on the road this season while Nevada is 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS at home.

Kentucky @ Vanderbilt (from -10.5 to -13.5 at TopBet)

While Vanderbilt has passed the eye test a bit better this season and has covered the spread in four straight, this line movement was a bit surprising. While Vanderbilt has had the better season ATS at 7-2 to Kentucky’s 4-5 and is a perfect 6-0 ATS at home, Kentucky is 8-2 SU and ATS in their last 10 games against Vanderbilt.

TCU @ Boise State (from -13.0 to -15.5 at BetOnline)

While TCU’s only two losses came by two points in their season opener to Baylor and in overtime against SMU, many bettors don’t expect them to keep it close against Boise State this week on the blue turf. Boise State is 2-4 ATS in their last six games and 0-3 ATS at home this season, but this will be the first time they’ll be a favorite of less than 20 points since their season opener against Georgia.
