Cardinals Search for End to ATS Slide in Visit to NC State

The Louisville Cardinals will try to end a nine-game slide at the sportsbooks when they take on conference rival North Carolina State on Thursday night in an ACC Week 6 matchup at Carter-Finley Stadium. The Cardinals are 0-8-1 ATS over their past nine but face a Wolfpack squad that has failed to cover in its past five home dates.

Shark Bites
  • The total has gone UNDER in seven of North Carolina State’s last eight games on Thursday.
  • North Carolina State is 3-9 ATS in its last 12 games at home against teams with winning records.
  • Louisville is 12-4 ATS in its last 16 games on the road against teams with winning records.

After being pegged as home favorites by more than 40 points in consecutive home dates, the Cardinals hit the road as underdogs for the first time in two years. Louisville has struggled to reward loyal sports bettors since covering in four straight outings to open the 2016 season, going 2-11-1 ATS in 14 games since, but is an impressive 8-4 SU in its past 12 as a road underdog, and 14-2 ATS over its past 16.

The Wolfpack face a conference rival for a third straight week after posting outright wins over Florida State and Syracuse to improve to 4-1 SU on the season. But NC State has covered just once during that stretch, a 27-21 upset win over the Seminoles as an 11.5-point road underdog two weeks ago.

The Cardinals have won all three meetings with NC State since their move to the ACC, and are a solid 2-1 SU and ATS over their past three visits to Raleigh, including a 20-13 win as 3-point underdogs in Week 5 of 2015.
