Conference play is now in full swing as the college football betting season enters Week 5. The trend on this week’s biggest line movers seems to be taking the points in these rivalry games.

Many bettors pounded early underdogs, but will they be rewarded? Here’s a look at four of the nation’s biggest moves in Week 5:

Utah State @ BYU (from -12.5 to -7.5 at TopBet)

By far the biggest move of the week, Utah State has gone from a 12.5-point underdog to just a 7.5-point underdog in their Friday night showdown against in-state rival BYU. BYU had won nine straight over Utah State before losing outright to them last season, but Utah State has held the ATS edge at 6-2 over their last eight meetings.

Texas Tech @ Kansas (from +9.5 to +6.5 at BetOnline)

For the second straight week, heavy action is coming in against Texas Tech. Last week it paid off for bettors, as Nevada easily covered as a 17-point underdog as Texas Tech won just 35-34. That said, Texas Tech is 7-1 SU and 5-3 ATS in their last eight games against Kansas, and the Jayhawks are averaging 44 points against per game this season.

Penn State @ Indiana (from +18.0 to +15.5 at [custom:bodog-link])

Despite being off to an ugly 1-3 start (2-2 ATS) with losses to North Texas, Ball State, and Virginia, early bettors still put their money on Indiana as the home underdog here against Penn State. Penn State is 0-4 ATS this season despite a 3-1 start, so the points do look enticing. The Nittany Lions are 10-0 SU in their last 10 games against Indiana, but just 1-3-1 ATS in their last five.

Kentucky @ LSU (from -28.0 to -30.5 at 5Dimes)

Last week, bettors wagered on Florida heavily against Kentucky, and were rewarded with an easy 48-10 Florida win and cover. This week, bettors are fading Kentucky again, betting LSU up to -30.5. The Tigers are 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS, but may not cover here if they get caught looking ahead to the Florida game next week.
