The Clemson Tigers (4-0 SU, 1-3 ATS) are looking for revenge when they host the NC State Wolfpack (4-0, 2-2) in a clash of undefeated ACC rivals. The Wolfpack edged Clemson in overtime last year for just their second victory in the last 17 meetings.

Wolfpack vs Tigers Opening Odds

Clemson has been a double-digit favorite in each of the last nine meetings between these ACC rivals, but that likely won’t be the case for this year’s clash. The Tigers opened as just 6.5-point chalk with a low total of 46.

Pack Attack Firing On All Cylinders But Team Has Struggled Recently On Road

NC State’s offense couldn’t have looked much better in last week’s 41-10 rout of Connecticut, scoring on its opening play from scrimmage and collecting 31 points on its first five possessions. Quarterback Devin Leary threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns, and the Wolfpack never punted.

Kicker Chris Dunn, the program’s all-time scoring leader, left the game in the third quarter after being tackled on a fake field-goal attempt. However, coach Dave Doeren told reporters after the game that Dunn should be fine for this week, noting he was trying to get backup kicker Collin Smith some game experience.

Although the Wolfpack have now won their last five games by an average of 14.6 points, it’ll be interesting to see if they can be as effective on the road. NC State is 4-12 ATS in its last 16 games on the highway.

Clemson Defense Looks To Bounce Back After Rare Mediocre Performance

Defense has keyed any success Clemson has had since the Trevor Lawrence era, but the Tigers offense bailed out the team’s stop unit last week. DJ Uiagalelei had arguably his best performance since inheriting the starting QB role from Lawrence last year, throwing for 375 yards and five touchdowns in Clemson’s 51-45 double-OT win at Wake Forest.

The Tigers needed every one of those touchdowns after allowing six touchdown passes of their own and surrendering 40-plus points to an ACC opponent for just the fourth time in eight years. Still, Clemson’s D managed to find a way to get stops when it counted, snuffing out a promising Wake Forest drive at the end of regulation and then stopping the Deacons again in the second OT.

The victory was Clemson’s ninth straight overall and 38th in its last 40 conference contests. Although the Tigers’ last loss in ACC play came against the Wolfpack, Clemson has dominated NC State recently in Death Valley, winning eight straight meetings.

Wolfpack: Keys To Win

NC State’s defense has the ability to keep this Clemson offense in check, entering this week’s action ranked ninth against the run and 13th in total yards allowed. Leary could also enjoy a big game against a Tigers secondary that is 104th in the nation vs the pass.

Tigers: Keys To Win

No need to worry about an emotional letdown from the Tigers following their big win at Wake Forest, since Clemson will have revenge on its mind for last year’s loss to the Wolfpack. Uiagalelei should also be oozing with confidence after his breakthrough performance against the Demon Deacons.
