NCAAF AAC Championship Futures

It appears that the road to the AAC Championship runs through Houston. The Houston Cougars claimed the title last season and looked like one of the best teams in the country doing so. Houston is led by quarterback Greg Ward Jr., who finished last season with 2828 passing yards and 1108 rushing yards while accounting for 38 touchdowns.

With their leader returning under center for the 2016 season, Houston has been pegged as +120 money to win the AAC according to Bovada.

There doesn’t appear to be too much competition within the AAC West to stop Houston from at least making the Championship Game. Memphis and Navy are getting the best odds within the West Conference aside from Houston, with the two teams being posted at +1100. However, Memphis and Navy will both be replacing star quarterbacks, as Paxton Lynch and Keenan Reynolds took off to the NFL.

The biggest threat to Houston may come from South Florida. USF is possibly the only school in the conference with a quarterback that can keep up with Ward, as Quinton Flowers will once again be taking the snaps. Flowers threw for 2296 yards and added 991 on the ground last season – plus he will be returning the bulk of his offensive weapons from last season.
