  • Pitt has protected its home field well over the past few seasons but bettors should be aware that the Panthers have not protected it well enough to cover the spread. Since the beginning of the 2015 season, Pitt has gone 10-4 SU at Heinz Field but has covered the spread on just three occasions.     Pitt thought it solved the issue of Nathan Peterman’s departure by bringing in USC transfer Max Browne but that has not worked out. Through the first two games of the season, Browne has thrown a total of 278 yards with two interceptions and one TD. The signal-caller doesn’t really have much to rely on in the backfield with the team averaging just 3.7 yards per carry.
