  • It looks like we have some points in the forecast as Texas A&M and Ole Miss meet in their annual SEC West matchup this weekend. The Rebels have taken the last two games between these teams but Ole Miss has dropped three of its last four and sits last in its division with a 1-4 conference record.

    • Mississippi is 7-17 SU in its last 24 games on the road after consecutive home games.

    Both of these teams have done an excellent job getting the ball in the end zone as the Rebels and Aggies have averaged 36.1 and 37.2 points per game respectively, but they’ve also both had a tough time slowing down opposing offenses. Ole Miss has given up an average of 461 yards per game while A&M has given up 441.  At the time of writing, there was no posted total but I think this one fits the bill as a potential shootout.

    The Aggies are rebounding this week after a pretty bad loss to Mississippi State in a game they entered as 10-point favorites. They’ve failed to cover in five straight games but recovered well after an expected loss to Alabama and missed covering against New Mexico State by just two points.

    Ole Miss has also been pretty awful against the spread as the Rebels haven’t come close to covering in their last four games. That said, one of these teams has to cover – unless they force a push – and the Rebels have covered the spread four times in a row against the Aggies.
