Texas Tech Has Yet Another Huge Total

Texas Tech has already had four games this season close with a total of 85.0 or higher. That will likely reach five when the Red Raiders take on the Baylor Bears on Friday.

As of Friday morning, Texas Tech vs Baylor has a total of 85.0, which is only the 10th occurrence of such a high total in our database. Of the previous nine games to close with a total of 85.0 or higher, the OVER has gone 5-4 with an average combined score of 94.4. In the four games that ultimately went UNDER, two fell just one point short of the closing total.

As previously stated, Texas Tech has been involved in four of those 10 games with a total of 85.0 or higher this season alone. Those four games ended up going 2-2, with the game against Oklahoma State failing to top the highest total ever (89.5) by just half a point.

The Red Raiders’ ridiculous passing offense is averaging 451.8 aerial yards per game and 42.7 points per game. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has thrown for three or more touchdowns in seven of Texas Tech’s 11 games this season. However, Texas Tech’s defense has been as stable as Jell-O in house construction, allowing 44.3 points.

Baylor’s offense started the season strong but has averaged just 25 points in its past four games, all of which were losses. Those four games have also seen the Baylor defense surrender 46 points per game, which includes a terrible 62-22 loss to TCU.
