NIU vs Toledo MAC Betting Preview

The Northern Illinois Huskies crashed the BCS party last year, and they're in line to do it again this season.

This week the Huskies have a chance to clinch a spot in the MAC championship game, but it won't come easy, as they travel to Toledo for a West Division showdown with the 7-3 Rockets Wednesday night.

Toledo, meanwhile, most recently beat Buffalo 51-41, covering as six-point favorites. So the Rockets are 7-2-1 vs. the numbers this year.

It's a betting matchup between the No. 51-rated Rockets and the No. 18-ranked Huskies, according to the NCAAF Power Rankings here at Odds Shark. Predictive-scoring models run on this game indicate a potential 49-37 result in favor of the Huskies.



Northern Illinois won its last outing, a 48-27 result against Ball State on November 13. Northern Illinois covered in that game as a 8.5-point favorite, while the 75 combined points took the game OVER the total. Kareem Hunt ran through the Buffalo defense for 186 yards in Toledo's last game, handing the Bulls a 51-41 setback on Tuesday at Glass Bowl.
