Sportsbook Odds Analysis

Early bettors jumped on the opportunity to get UCF at -14.5, quickly moving the line two full points to UCF -16.5. This will be the ninth time in the Knights’ last 10 games that they have been favored by double digits.

UCF News & Notes

After going a perfect 13-0 in Scott Frost’s final year with the program in 2017 and then going 12-0 in the regular season again before losing to LSU in the Fiesta Bowl last season, perfection has become the standard at Central Florida. So while many teams around the nation would be thrilled to have a 7-2 SU and 4-5 ATS record through their first nine games, the Knights aren’t one of them.

UCF is just 1-5 ATS over its last six games with two outright losses as a road favorite. The Knights lost by slim margins in both of those games as they fell 35-34 in Pittsburgh and 27-24 in Cincinnati, but a loss is a loss and there are no moral victories for teams held to this high a standard. The team will try to avoid another road loss with a win this week at Tulsa and in their next game at Tulane.

Tulsa News & Notes

Since kicking off the season with a 2-2 SU and ATS record through their first four games, the Golden Hurricane have lost their last five games. But to their credit, they’ve been a consistently pesky underdog in 2019. Tulsa is 4-2 ATS in six games as a betting underdog this season, with ATS covers against the AAC’s three top teams in SMU, Memphis and Cincinnati.

Tulsa is just 2-16 SU in its last 18 conference games against AAC foes. The Golden Hurricane have had only one winning season since 2012 and are 7-26 SU since the start of the 2017 season.

Betting Pick: Golden Hurricane +16.5

Central Florida’s once-elite defense has given up 26.8 points per game over the team’s last seven games. It’s possible that UCF runs away with it, but look for Tulsa to scratch out enough points at home to earn a cover.
