Utah Hopes To Ride Offense To Another Win Over USC

The Utes had a rare off-day on offense in their 20-17 loss as 1-point underdogs on the road against the Oregon Ducks in Week 12. Utah’s offense bounced back nicely in a 63-21 win over the Colorado Buffaloes, leading the team to an easy cover as 30-point road favorites.

Cameron Rising completed 17 of 19 pass attempts for 234 passing yards and three touchdowns in the win while Ja’Quinden Jackson led the rushing attack with 117 yards and three touchdowns on only 10 carries.

Rising torched USC’s defense in the last meeting between these teams, passing for 415 yards and two touchdowns and rushing for 60 yards and three majors. Utah came away with a 43-42 win in that game and will likely need another outstanding performance from Rising to win the Pac-12 championship. The Utes enter Friday night with a 3-1 SU and ATS record over their last four games.

Caleb Williams Looks To Be On His Way To A Heisman Trophy Win

After Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud struggled against the Michigan Wolverines in an ugly loss at home, Caleb Williams did his part to cement himself as the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy with a brilliant performance in USC’s 38-27 win at home over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Williams went 18-for-22 with 232 passing yards and a touchdown pass while adding 35 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Williams enters the Pac-12 championship game with 3,712 passing yards and a dazzling 34-to-3 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

With help from other teams around the nation and a 5-0 SU and 3-2 ATS run since losing by one point to Utah in October, USC is in position to claim a College Football Playoff spot with a win on Friday night. This team was just 4-8 SU in 2021, but under new head coach Lincoln Riley, the Trojans have returned to national prominence.

Utah: Keys To Victory

The Utes have been the better team on defense this season, and in theory that should help their chances at an upset. But nothing about USC’s current form on offense or the last game between these two teams suggests the Trojans will be slowing down, so it will be up to Cameron Rising and the offense to out-shoot the Trojans to win as a USC vs Utah prediction.

USC: Keys To Victory

Caleb Williams had 381 passing yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions in USC’s 43-42 loss to Utah in October. That game was in a hostile road environment; another dominant effort by the USC offense could be enough this time around to secure a win as a Utah vs USC pick in Las Vegas.
