A pair of teams trying to snap two-game losing streaks meet up Sunday in Jacksonville when the Falcons (4-6 SU, 4-6 ATS) visit the Jaguars (2-8, 4-6). Atlanta was whitewashed 25-0 by the Patriots in Week 11 while the Jaguars were steamrolled 30-10 by the 49ers.
Sportsbook Odds Analysis
With both teams coming off equally poor performances, there has been little to no movement of note. The Falcons opened as 1-point favorites with the total set at 48 points for two teams that combined to score 10 points last weekend.
Atlanta News & Notes
The Falcons have scored an abysmal three points in two games. Matt Ryan threw two interceptions against the Pats and gave way to backups Josh Rosen and Feleipe Franks, who both tossed a pick in limited action.
The Jaguars, though, present a get-right matchup for the offense, which should get a boost with the expected return of Cordarrelle Patterson. Atlanta has also shown some promise on the road this season, going 3-2 in five games away from home.
Atlanta’s defense has been one of the worst units in the league this season. Facing a Jacksonville team that is no stranger to turnovers could offer a reprieve for the Falcons unit.

Jacksonville News & Notes
San Francisco completely shut down Jacksonville’s running game and without James Robinson doing his thing, the Jags offense turned into a predictable one-dimensional entity.
Young quarterback Trevor Lawrence needs his weapons firing on all cylinders to have a chance to win, and they should have a much easier task against Atlanta’s defense.
Unfortunately, injuries have hampered the offense, which is missing DJ Chark, James O’Shaughnessy and now Jamal Agnew. No. 1 receiver Marvin Jones Jr. has been underwhelming but Lawrence has been awful of late, going three straight outings without throwing a touchdown pass.
How Atlanta Will Cover
Count on Atlanta to regain some of its offensive prowess if Cordarrelle Patterson is ready to go. Matt Ryan needs to be smarter with the ball – Atlanta’s defense is not good enough to cope with too many turnovers on offense.
How Jacksonville Will Cover
A less than fully fit Robinson had little impact against the 49ers. When he’s on his game, this offense looks its best. Lawrence needs to use Robinson out of the backfield and eclipse the 200-yard mark for the first time since Week 8.
