Falcons vs Seahawks Sportsbook Odds

Atlanta has earned the respect of bettors and oddsmakers alike for the team’s second consecutive road game, with the point spread dropping from +3 to +1 in early wagering action.

While Seattle opened as a field-goal favorite, the host team was blown out 27-7 by the San Francisco 49ers as an 8.5-point road underdog last Sunday after upsetting former quarterback Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos 17-16 as a 6-point home dog in the Week 1 Monday Night Football matchup.

It is debatable whether the Seahawks should be favored in this spot, and bettors are picking the road dogs right now.

Fighting Falcons Not Giving Up Through First Two Games

Atlanta has played two quality opponents so far and managed to cover the spread twice by getting off to a strong start in the first game and then rallying back to beat the number in the second.

Either way, the Falcons have proven to be a tough out for the New Orleans Saints and defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams, who nearly blew a 31-10 lead in the fourth quarter before holding on for a 31-27 victory.

Marcus Mariota has continued to play as he has throughout his NFL career, looking great at times and not so great at others, and his late interception at Los Angeles prevented a big upset.

Seahawks Still Searching For Missing Running Game In Week 3

Seattle head coach Pete Carroll has been known for producing balanced offenses during his career going back to his days leading the USC Trojans.

Unfortunately for the Seahawks, they do not seem to have the right personnel at the moment as they move forward with their rebuild after dealing Wilson to the Broncos.

Running backs Rashaad Penny and Kenneth Walker III combined for 25 rushing yards on 10 carries in the loss to the 49ers while new starting quarterback Geno Smith did not fare nearly as well as he did in the season opener, completing 24 of 30 passes for 197 yards with one interception and no touchdowns. This is a game where the offense needs to step up and produce.

Falcons: Keys To Win

Atlanta must make Smith win the game for the home team and continue to hold the opposition’s running game in check. Against the Rams, the Falcons limited Darrell Henderson and Cam Akers to 91 yards and one touchdown on 25 carries, and they are a more talented duo than what the Seahawks have. If the Falcons can turn in a similar defensive performance here and Mariota limits his turnovers, then they should get their first win.

Seahawks: Keys To Win

The 12th man in Seattle used to be a real home-field advantage, and the fans could definitely play a role in this game. Mariota will be playing near where he starred in college for the Oregon Ducks, and the Seahawks need to pressure him into making mistakes. Many thought Wilson would have an easy time in his homecoming, and he did not. Mariota is not nearly the same caliber as Wilson and has been known to buckle under pressure.
