Sportsbook Odds Analysis

The Ravens opened as 7.5-point road favorites in this matchup and have been bet up slightly to Baltimore -8. The total has also been bet up from its original line at 48.5 points to 49.5 points. The OVER is 4-1 in Detroit’s last five games.

Baltimore News & Notes

The Ravens followed up their wild shootout against the Las Vegas Raiders with another one against the Kansas City Chiefs, this time coming out on top in a 36-35 win over the defending AFC champions.

Lamar Jackson went 18-for-26 with 239 passing yards, one passing touchdown and two interceptions in the win, but he did most of his damage with his feet, rushing for 107 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.

Ty’Son Williams rushed for 77 yards on 13 carries and caught two passes for 16 yards on Sunday night. Williams rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown on nine carries and caught three passes for 29 yards in Week 1 against the Raiders.

Williams, an undrafted rookie, is earning his touches in Baltimore and should make for a nice value pick in daily fantasy sports leagues on Sunday against this awful Lions defense.

Detroit News & Notes

In Week 1, the Lions trailed 31-10 at the half before outscoring the 49ers 23-10 in the second half to earn a backdoor cover of the spread as a 9.5-point underdog. Last week played out in reverse with Detroit taking a 17-14 lead into halftime only to be blown away 21-0 in the second half of a 35-17 loss to the Packers.

Detroit has surrendered a whopping 39.5 points per game over its current six-game losing streak. The Lions’ hopeless defense isn’t likely to figure things out Sunday facing one of the most explosive quarterbacks in the game in Lamar Jackson.

Whatever chance the Lions have at pulling off an upset at home will rest on the arm of Jared Goff. Detroit is 0-5 SU in its last five home games.

Staff Betting Pick: OVER 48.5 points

Lamar Jackson and the Ravens could go over this number themselves. And considering the Baltimore defense’s poor start to the season and Detroit’s competency on offense, this one has OVER written all over it.
