Bears vs Chiefs Picks - Preseason Week 3
If you haven't heard, the man compared to a young Patrick Mahomes - Caleb Williams looked every bit an NFL quarterback while leading the Bears starting offense to two scoring drives last week. Williams played the entire first half, so you'd have to think the Bears remain cautious with the future of their franchise in Week 3.
However, Chicago's defense was the real star of the show. Da Bears suffocating unit have now gone nine quarters without allowing a touchdown. They forced three turnovers against the Bengals last week and look ready for the regular season to start. On top of that, Tyson Bagent threw two touchdowns to Dante Pettis and went 7-of-89 for 87 yards versus Cincinnati.
Not to be outdone, Patrick Mahomes put on a show in Week 2, tossing a touchdown pass to Xavier Worthy and making a number of highlight reel plays. That being said, I doubt we see any starters or key backups playing in this matchup. Both teams will want to remain cautious with the regular season on the horizon.
Chicago's second- and third-stringers are champing at the bit, looking to make an impression and earn a roster spot. While there are few spots up for grabs on the back-to-back Super Bowl champion Chiefs, and little urgency to perform in this game.
Kansas City has averaged about 270 yards of total offense in each game this preseason, and I can't get behind the likes of Ian Book or Chris Oladokun to play winning football. Back the Bears on the spread.
Bears vs Chiefs Preseason Week 3 Pick: Chicago Bears -3.5 (-110)
