Betting line favors Seahawks over Giants

Seattle SeahawksNew York Giants
11-2December 15, 2013, 01:00 | MetLife Stadium5-8

The Seattle Seahawks will be looking to take out some frustration on the cooked New York Giants. Bettors clearly like Seattle’s chances.

The Seahawks opened as 4.5-point favorites, but the point spread was sitting at Seattle -7 at most sports books early in the week.

Seattle has covered the spread in eight of 10 road games, but is coming off a road loss at San Francisco and faces a cross-country trip followed by an early kickoff. Luckily, a bad Giants team will be on the other side of the field.

The Giants were drubbed at San Diego last week. Quarterback Eli Manning threw his 20th interception, and the Giants were eliminated from the playoffs. The G-Men will be playing for pride on Sunday.

The past four meetings all played OVER the total, while the Giants have played five straight OVERs as home dogs.

They battle the Seahawks, currently with a 11-2 mark (9-4 ATS). The over under records, important for totals bettors, are 7-6 for the Giants and 6-7 for the Seahawks.

Last time out for Seattle, they were a 19-17 loser as they battled the 49ers on the road. The Seahawks covered in the match as a 2.5-point underdog, while 36 combined points moved the game UNDER for totals bettors. In their last game, the Seahawks were Week 14 losers coming out on the wrong end of 19-17 score against San Francisco. Hakeem Nicks hauled in 5 passes for 135 yards against the San Diego defense in the team's last game, but the result was a 37-14 loss against the Chargers on Sunday.
